i found myself laughing out loud last wednesday as i scrolled through the comments. they are always funny. always. but this wednesday night i needed to laugh more than any of you knew.

tuesday night i’d gotten the kind of phone call no one ever wants to get - especially if they live far away from loved ones. the biopsy showed my sister-in-law had bone cancer.
bone cancer.
not pneumonia.
not a pulled tendon.
not an infection around her rib area.
bone cancer.
she’s 25.
she and my baby brother have only been married 2 1/2 years.
the shock hurt so bad i forgot how to breathe.
or eat.
i found myself thinking: “so this is how it feels…..”
i spent the better part of wednesday in a daze - trying to figure out if i should fly home immediately or wait things out from 1,000 miles away. i cried on the couch with drew. cried on the phone with my daddy. cried on the phone with my mama. and cried after i got off the phone with my brother.
then i laughed with y’all.
your crazy comments were like medicine for my soul - giving me a reason to smile. to hope.
she and my brother are in good spirits right now, better than most of us in the family. and they have incredible hope - knowing that “these things happen for a reason….” they inspire me - i’m so proud of them.
so, this week i wanna laugh every day, not just on our favorite wednesdays… wanna join me?
to start, here’s two of my favorite and most laughable blogs:
now its your turn: what are some of your favorite and most laughable blogs??? send me somewhere that’s gonna crack me up!
(i’ll try to rescue all the comments with links from our friendly spam-monster)

Ok, I THOUGHT i had some funny blogs to share, but after looking at yours, I’ve got nothin’. Unless you want to do some mostly humorous, sometimes serious, but absolutely sarcastic reading. Then you should check out Kamp Krusty at branthansen.typepad.com/letters_from_kamp_krusty.

Bigmama is funny and a link on Boomama. I don’t know you, live and in person, but no matter - it sounds pretty sure we’ll be meeting someday in the Heavens. Just said a prayer for your sister-in-law, your family and yourself as you embark on this difficult journey and education. May God’s blessings and purpose be revealed throughout - S

I just visited I Can Has Cheeseburger for the first time…funny!
My suggested link is not a blog..just a funny site: http://www.engrish.com. It’s real Japanese/english translations that went a little awry. Be warned, you will have to sort through some “adult” ones…but most are just plain funny.

I personally love Cady Mcclain’s blog; she’s a trip just the way she writes…
other than that…hmm…have to think.
I did however read something in Reader’s Digest that I thought was funny…
But Things Have Changed Lord! ”
Reader’s Digest
” God, deciding that the Earth had become too wicked again, sent down Noah to build another ark and to again save two of every living thing. “You have six months before I send the great flood.” God said.
Six months later, God called in the thunder and lightning and the rain came. He looked down and found Noah very distraught and with not one plank on the boat’s hull.
“Noah, I have started the storm, why is the boat not finished?”
“There have been some construction delays Lord. First I was told I needed a building permit. Then a group called PETA protested saying that it was inhumane to put all the animals in such a small place. Then I was told that because I lived in a flood plain I could not build the ark there. I told them that building it in a flood plain was exactly the point but that did not impress them. My new location was fine but the EPA had to first do an environmental impact study that held up construction until just yesterday!”
Suddenly the clouds cleared up and a beautiful rainbow crossed the celestial horizon.
.
“I’m calling you back.” God said.
“Aren’t you going to destroy the world Lord?” Noah asked.
“What’s the point?” God said. “It looks like someone beat me to it!”

Lol..thats funny Angie……..Noah and God dealing with the age of political correctness…….
Sorry to hear about your sister in law Mandy.
My own brother was diagnosed with prostrate cancer two years ago, and it came as a major shock to our family. I will keep her in prayer.
For humor I always look forward to reading the comic strip “Pearls Before Swine”

BooMama is my ‘go-to’ woman for laughs, so I don’t have a suggestion. Just wanted to say I’m sorry to hear about your sister in law but hope the next few days will bring added clarity and cause for even greater optimism for her eventual healing! Hugs - M

Hilarious, great writer, non Christian guy from Seattle. Great use of sarcasm, very subtle at times. Comments on politics, board games and his family. I always enjoy his posts.

Well, I was gonna blog this, but since you need a laugh:)
I had one of my ” Full throttle” moments tonight, a whole can of it actually and 3 hrs of disciple class, can I tell you how hyper this girl was! I got in trouble for talking quite a few times, but it brings me to a flashback.
I was helping with a sharaton at a radio station, and so I was on line 1, and I couldnt get up to go to the bathroom, or anything, and was actually served my lunch and dinner(both with mountain dew), so when I finally got up after almost 5 hrs…I was hyped.
So I am going around the station asking anyone to run with me…so the one dj I know, she was like, ” I will” so we literally ran around the inside office…only for like half way, because then we got in trouble for running.
Thought I’d share my crazy self with you siesta:)
I might write ya later, once this biology test is well in my brain:)

So sorry to hear about your sister-in-law. You are right that laughter can be the best medicine at times. Also, a good ol’ Tyler Perry movie can help. Have you seen Diary of a Mad Black Woman or Madea’s Family Reunion? Watching one or both of those will put a much needed smile on your face.
Praying for your family.

I am so sorry to hear that you all are dealing with this. I’m lifting you all up in prayer!
One of my favorites is http://www.mamalogues.com. She is a very funny writer.

Prayers for your brother and his wife and the rest of the family. They do say that laughter adds some years to your life and I haven’t been to Boomama so I will have to check that out. I get a good chuckle out of Confessions of a Pioneer Woman. Being that most of us do not live on a ranch and are married to a real cowboy, her life provides for some definite chuckles.
